Food Donation Request for the NOVA Classic Wrestling Tournament Hospitality Room

Dear Fairfax High School Athletics Supporter:

          We need your help!! Fairfax High School is again hosting the very prestigious NOVA Wrestling Classic on Friday, December 8th and Saturday December 9th, 2017.  This tournament involves 32 schools and over 400 wrestlers and the proceeds from this tournament benefit ALL Fairfax HS Athletic teams! Fairfax will host their famous "Hospitality Room" that has been talked about by schools all over the Washington area!  The Athletic Boosters do a wonderful job of providing this hospitality room for the officials, coaches, and administrators of the participating teams as a courtesy to the visiting schools.  It has always been highly successful and we look forward to another great event this year.

          We are once again asking for your support in extending the visitors of the NOVA Wrestling Classic Tournament the warm welcome and sense of community they have come to expect at Fairfax High School.  We are tasked with providing breakfast, lunch, and dinner for both Friday AND Saturday and are asking for food donations to help us make this happen.  We need help from the families of ALL of the sport teams from ALL seasons! (Fall Season Sports: Cheer, Cross Country, Field Hockey, Football, Golf, Volleyball.  Winter Season Sports: Basketball, Gymnastics, Swim & Dive, Indoor Track, Wrestling.  Spring Season Sports: Baseball, Softball, Lacrosse, Soccer, Tennis, Outdoor Track.)

All food should be ready to serve except for necessary reheating.  Please deliver your food items to the Field House concession stand or Auxiliary Gym on Friday, December 8, 2017 (before, during, and/or after school).  Label all dishes, which will be available to be picked up from in the concession stand on Monday, December 11, 2017.

Below are some food donation suggestions (and might require team coordination to accomplish), however ANY type of food donation is GREATLY appreciated!

Fall Sports:

Cheer – Salads: can be premade or just the ingredients to make salads; such as lettuce, cucumbers, bell peppers, tomatoes, shredded cheese, croutons, dressings of any kind, but popular flavors are: ranch and Italian, etc., AND/OR Vegetable Tray(s).

Cross Country (Boys & Girls) – Desserts such as Cookies, Brownies, Cakes, etc.

Field Hockey – Breakfast Items such as: Bagels, Butter, Cream Cheese, Muffins, Donuts, Juice, Fresh Fruit (whole, cut up, fruit salad), other breakfast Pastries, etc. OR Desserts such as Cookies, Brownies, Cakes, etc.

Football – Main Dishes/Italian/Pasta Dishes such as: Spaghetti, Meatballs, Lasagna, Baked Ziti, Mac and Cheese, etc. (any other pasta type dish)

Golf – Side Dishes such as: Pasta Salad, Macaroni Salad, Potato Salad, Chicken Salad Tuna Salad, Jello Salad, Ambrosia Salad, etc.

Volleyball – Side Dishes such as: Baked Beans, Green Beans, Rice Dishes, Mashed Potatoes, OR Breads (Rolls, Biscuits, Cornbread, etc.) OR Chips/Dips (any kind of chips/dips in any sizes, etc.

 

Winter Sports:

Basketball (Boys & Girls) – Main Dish: Food items and/or Toppings to make a Chili/Hot Dog Bar such as: Chili (multiple versions), Salt, Pepper, Hot Sauce, Corn Bread, Crackers, Tortilla Chips, Frito (Chips), Shredded Cheese, Sour cream, Hot Dogs and Buns, Ketchup, Mustard, Relish, Diced onions

Gymnastics – Anything in a Crockpot such as: Soups, Stews, Chili OR Breads (Rolls, Biscuits, Cornbread, etc.) OR Chips/Dips (any kind of chips/dips in any sizes, etc. OR Desserts such as Cookies, Brownies, Cakes, etc.

Swim & Dive (Boys & Girls) – Main Dish Food Items and/or Toppings to make a Baked Potato Bar such as: Baked Potatoes wrapped in foil, Butter, Sour Cream, Shredded cheese, Cut up Chives, Crumbled Bacon/Bacon Bits, Salt and Pepper, etc.

Indoor Track (Boys & Girls) – Desserts such as Cookies, Brownies, Cakes, etc.

Wrestling – Main Dish Food Items and/or Toppings to make a Taco/Nacho Bar such as: Taco Meat (beef and/or chicken), Taco Shells (hard and soft), Shredded Lettuce, Diced Tomatoes, Shredded Cheese, Sour Cream, Taco Sauce, Salsa, Guacamole, Olives, Bell Peppers, Corn, Rice, Beans (Refried and/or Black), Tortilla Chips, Fritos (Chips), Queso Cheese, etc.

 

Spring Sports:

Baseball – Main Dish: Chicken Dishes such as: Fried Chicken, Chicken wings/nuggets/strips/tenders, Chicken Casseroles, etc.

Softball – Main Dish: Sandwiches (any kind of sandwiches: homemade, store bought, restaurant bought) OR Breakfast Items such as: Bagels, Butter, Cream Cheese, Muffins, Donuts, Juice, Fresh Fruit (whole, cut up, fruit salad), etc.

Lacrosse (Boys & Girls) – Main Dish: Pizza, Casseroles, Barbeque, Pulled Pork OR Anything in a Crockpot such as: Soups, Stews, Chili, etc.

Soccer (Boys & Girls) – Main Dishes/Italian/Pasta Dishes such as: Spaghetti, Meatballs, Lasagna, Baked Ziti, Mac and Cheese, etc. (any other pasta type dish)

Tennis (Boys & Girls) – The large cans of Green Beans, Corn, Baked Beans, Chili, etc. From any of the big box stores, such as Costco or any grocery store are great…We can open, warm, and serve here at FHS.  You would just need to bring in the cans.

Outdoor Track (Boys & Girls) – Desserts such as Cookies, Brownies, Cakes, etc.

ALL Fairfax HS Athletic Teams!!!
